Ally Bryant is a born and raised Cape Codder who has very recently started a new life adventure by moving to Queens, NY to work in publishing.  She graduated from Boston University in 2019 with a degree in English, and hopes to one day call herself a novelist. She believes storytelling is the easiest way to teach empathy, and strives to write stories that explore the complexities of all the little ways we link ourselves to each other and the land around us.

“During this quarantine, I have been reflecting on the cyclic nature of my life and the person I am each time I return home.  My small rural town, my family, and the recent recurrence of my rare childhood illness offer layers of isolation and connection that are both personal and societal. This piece explores aspects of my upbringing that separate me from other people, bind me to them, and the balance that I’ve struck in order to grow into my skin, as we all must.”
