Entry 30 - Mission to Mars, by Grace Cuny

Mission To Mars by Grace Cuny (@thekneadfortoast)

Grace is a dancer/ comedian/barista living in Brooklyn. Since entering quarantine, she’s reconnected with a few childhood pastimes, i.e. constructing tiny worlds and telling stories with her hands.

‘Mission to Mars’ was in reaction to a failed romance. The theme of self-isolating in outer space felt eerily relevant as the pandemic pushed us into hidey-holes and away from those we long to see. In the film, Grace has crafted a spaceship “out of packing material,” as the song goes, and embarks on a solitary mission to Mars in a slow-motion finger ballet.
